BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA: The number of children being affected in Europe by online dangers is both alarming and increasing. In light of this, Australian company, Race River has released their technologically advanced internet filtering software, Integard in French.
Integard has the ability to block inappropriate websites as well as monitor chat conversations to alert parents of âgroomingâ by online predators, or conversations that seem suspicious.
âGroomingâ is the process that online predators undertake with the aim of befriending and developing an emotional connection with a child and eventually obtain their personal details and try to meet with them for sexual abuse. Integard Internet Filter enables parents to block phone numbers and addresses from being released through chat rooms and websites and can alerts parents of any suspicious online conversation.
Integard is by far the most configurable and powerful filter on the market giving parents the option to make the filter even stricter than it already is using customisable keyword lists, allowed site lists, blocked site lists and filter sensitivity settings. Whilst on the other hand the Integard security can be loosened up and the software utilised as more of a monitoring service. It also caters for multiple users allowing different filter levels for different members of the family.
Race River spokesperson, John Hedges said there is a need for a high quality internet filtering software in languages other than English.
âThe problem of online predators and inappropriate websites for children is a global issue and happens in all languages.â Mr Hedges said.
âAlthough there are internet filtering software available in languages other than English, Integard is the first that offers such a high calibre of protection and unmatched featuresâ. Mr Hedges continued.
Integard has been Australiaâs leading internet filter since 2006. Following the French release, Integard will soon be released in other languages.
